Forest Dreams

Het is zo ver. De eerste twee van de serie Forest Dreams zijn nu klaar. Het is altijd weer afwachten of het resultaat voldoet aan je ideeën en verwachtingen. Ik kan zeggen dat het project naar mijn mening geslaagd is. 

Eerder had ik al aangegeven dat Forest Dreams een samenspel tussen schilderkunst en viltwerk is. Bij het ontwikkelen van ideeën zoek ik steeds naar nieuwe uitdagingen. En samenwerking met andere technieken. 

Hierbij een paar foto's. In tegenstelling tot  de meeste andere producten van B'Sofies zullen de Forest Dreams niet via Etsy verkrijgbaar zijn. Zij zullen wel op de markten verkrijgbaar zijn. De prijzen zijn €55,- per stuk.  

B'Sofies is aanwezig op de volgende markten:

-10 augustus in Baexem (kunstmarkt Beaxheimerhof)  

-23 augustus in Panningen (hobbymarkt centrum) 

-10 oktober in Genk (Handgemarkt C-mine)

Maar je kunt ook een berichtje sturen als je interesse hebt.

Forest Dreams update @BSofies

Zoals beloofd hierbij een update van mijn project Forest Dreams.

Forest Dreams zijn kijkkastjes waarin je kunt verdwalen. Een ontmoeting van schilderkunst met viltwerk. Door de keuze van verschillende bostaferelen met steeds een andere paddestoel is er een kijkkastje voor elke sfeer en stemming. Uiteraard is er van elke droom maar een beschikbaar. 

Forest Dreams is overigens een co-productie. En wel met mijn vader die voor het kunstzinnige schilderwerk zorgt.

De dromen zijn nog niet helemaal klaar. Maar hierbij wel een kleine impressie van de magie die ontstaat bij het samenspel tussen schilderkunst en viltwerk.

As promised an update on my project Forest Dreams.

Forest Dreams are viewing box where you can get lost. A meeting of a painting with felt work. By choosing different forest scenes with a different fungus, there is a viewing box for each atmosphere and mood. Obviously there is only one of every dream available.

Forest Dreams is also a co-production, with my father who makes the artistic painting.

The dreams are not completely finished. But this does a little impression of the magic that occurs in the interplay between painting and felt work. To be continued.

Het krijgt de naam Forest dreams. Inspiratiebron is duidelijk: het bos gecombineerd met de dromerige sfeer van oude prenten.

New Project at B'Sofies: Mushrooms for the autumn

Instagram had ik al eerder ontdekt maar was er niet heel erg actief mee. Maar nu ik me hier verder in verdiept heb is het een nieuwe verslaving. Gevolg is dat mijn berichten op dit blog wat minder in aantal zijn terwijl ik net de draai weer gevonden had. 

Instagram I had already discovered but I was was not very actively. But now I have to study Instagram further it's a new addiction. The result is that my posts on this blog in number a less. 

Maar na Twitter en Instagram waar ik de eerste beelden van mijn nieuwste project heb weergegeven dan nu ook hier een klein berichtje. Als voorbereiding voor de activiteiten die vanaf de herfst gaan spelen heb ik een nieuw project. Het paddenstoelen project! Geïnspireerd door de mooie historisch botanische afbeeldingen van paddenstoelen. Maar wel geheel passend in mijn eigen B'Sofies stijl. 

 

But after Twitter and Instagram were I posted the first pictures of my latest project now also here a little message. In preparation for the activities that are going to play from the fall I have a new project. The mushroom project! Inspired by the beautiful historic botanical illustrations of mushrooms. But entirely appropriate in my own B'Sofies style.

Ik ben nog aan het experimenteren en zal zo nu en dan ook hier een paar foto's plaatsen. Naast een foto van een aantal paddenstoelen ook een paar  afbeeldingen via mijn pinterestbord die mij inspireren.

Gerendal Valkenburg

We live about 6 years nearby Roermond. The landscape here is flat which is very nice to bike. But sometimes we go to Valkenburg for a walk in Nature. We switch from locations. Last friday we went to the Gerendal. I haven't been here for many many years. And, I had forgotten how heavy it is to walk here.

But it was beautiful and we had great sunny weather.

A visitor in the garden

A few weekends ago we had a new visitor a our garden.
The whole day everybody could hear him.
In the midday we saw him on the street (we live in a small village but it is not the country).
For one moment he made it the country.
The Cock had a nice 'voice'.
Later that day I was in the garden and there he was.
Checking out what I was doing.
After checking out the whole garden, he went... home. (I guess, because it was cold).

What better te do than a nice Autumn Walk

These pictures I made Strolling around in 'de weerd' (a Flood plain) nearby Horn and Haelen.
The Flood plain is for the river Maas.

This picture below is a picture to show the contrast in the landscape. A nice land-house on a small natural hill and behind  a energy plant. From there the energy is spread with electricity pylons (not on the picture), they are all over the landscape.

 

Autumn sunshine

I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air. [Nathaniel Hawthorne 1804-1864]

Region in transition, Ruhr 2010 .........

After Ruhr 2010 we were not finished with this area in transition.
So this year we went again for 3 day's.
Things you have to see are the landscape park Duisburg Nord and the Zechen Zollferein in Essen.
The basis of these project were the same, a complete area with plants that are not used anymore. Demolishing was a option but also a very expensive one. So the made the right choice to leave the building as they are.
The difference between these two projects is that the Zechen Zollferein has a clear use, for example the Ruhrmuseum and the Red Dot Design museum that are in the buildings. In the landscape park of course de buildings have a function but the the idea is that nature can take over. The functions came also more organically. For example the climbers have a big space were they climb, even for small children there is a wall to climb. The Divers -association has her own base in the old gasometer, now the 'Tauch-gasometer'.

Miracle

Yesterday I saw a Macroglossum stellatarum, in Dutch the Kolibrievlinder (kolibrie butterfly?).

I was surprised to see this butterfly for the first time in my life. 

They are apparently more common.

But this does not change the miracle.

This flower is called Ranonkel in Dutch.It gives a retro feel and has also something hip and cheerful.Flowers make you happy anyway.They are works of art in itself.The petal of ranunculus are so thin and translucent, together they form a strong flower.
